Fellow musician Amir Benayoun recently revealed details about their very first encounter, which took place long before Rand embarked on his musical career and was primarily known as an actor.
The Surprising First Meeting
During an appearance on the Galei Tzahal podcast "In the Studio with Avi Ohayon", Benayoun recounted that he saw Rand in an interview and approached him with a direct request. "I came to him with a CD of a few sketches and told him: 'This is for you.' Later, he admitted that I was pushing on an open door and that he was already writing and composing," Benayoun shared.
During their conversation, Rand asked Benayoun, "Where did you drop on me out of nowhere?", to which Benayoun replied, "From wherever I dropped on myself—I dropped on you. Take it." Reflecting on Rand's massive success, Benayoun remarked about his friend: "What a loss it would have been if he had never come out [with his music]."
