Amir Banai reveals: The bullying he endured because of his mother
While starring on screen and on his way to the Festigal, Banai reveals for the first time the severe physical bullying he endured at school following the public statements of his mother, Orna Banai.

Amir Banai reveals the price of fame he paid in his childhood. While being marked as one of the most prominent and strong contestants on "Dancing with the Stars" and on his way to participating in the Festigal, Banai shares about the bullying he endured at school following the public statements of his mother, Orna Banai.
Amir Banai is currently demonstrating impressive and brilliant performances on the dance floor in "Dancing with the Stars," receiving wall-to-wall praise and being considered a clear favorite by the judges and the audience. Alongside his meteoric success in the dance competition, Banai continues to establish his status in the entertainment industry and has already been chosen to take part in the upcoming Festigal show.
However, alongside the professional breakthrough and family lineage, the path was not always simple. After previously sharing the difficulties he experienced due to the absence of his father, journalist Aharale Barnea, he now reveals that growing up alongside his famous mother, Orna Banai, also took a significant toll on him.
In an open conversation on the "HOT TALK" podcast hosted by Asaf Golan, Banai told about the harassment and bullying he had to endure in his childhood due to his mother's political positions. He recalled a particularly difficult incident that occurred when he was in the fourth grade, following a well-known statement by his mother after Operation Protective Edge:
"Students from older grades approached me during breaks, cursed at me, harassed me, and even physically pushed me, echoing claims they had apparently heard in their homes."
Banai noted that at those moments he tried to defend himself, but realized very quickly that he had no real way to explain his mother's words. He added that he chose not to tell her about the events in real-time, out of an understanding that this is part of the price paid by family members of people who are in the public eye.
Today, it seems that Banai is succeeding in leaving the shadows of the past behind him and paving an independent path in the heart of the Israeli consensus. From the child who had to take fire due to his family lineage, he has become, thanks to pure talent, diligence, and a lot of personal charm, a star in his own right, one who has taken the dance floor by storm and is on his way with giant steps to conquer the Festigal stage as well.
