Suspect arrested after assaulting a woman on Nahalat Binyamin Street
A man in his 30s from the south of the country was arrested after a video showing him harming a woman circulated on social media. He was located during joint searches by police and Tel Aviv municipality patrol officers and will appear in court for a detention hearing.
Police arrested a man on Wednesday on suspicion of assaulting a woman on Nahalat Binyamin Street in Jaffa. The arrest followed the circulation of a video on social media documenting the assault, which occurred earlier that morning.
The investigation began immediately upon receiving the report and seeing the footage online. Extensive searches were launched in the area to identify and locate the attacker.
The suspect was eventually found through a joint operation involving officers from the Jaffa station and patrol officers from the SELA division of the Tel Aviv municipality. He was transferred to the police station for questioning.
Police stated they intend to bring the suspect before a court to request an extension of his detention, based on the initial findings of the investigation.
