The IV infusion affair: Ironi Tiberias players reach settlement with Anti-Doping Agency
Guy Hadida, David Keltjens, and Niv Gottlieb have reached a settlement under which each will be suspended for eight months, with the possibility of a five-month reduction subject to full cooperation with the agency.
The National Anti-Doping Agency has reached a settlement with three Ironi Tiberias football players — Guy Hadida, David Keltjens, and Niv Gottlieb — as part of proceedings initiated regarding the administration of intravenous fluid infusions at the club's premises. In accordance with the settlement submitted for approval to the Sports Anti-Doping Tribunal in Israel, it was determined that the players violated the agency's regulations, which are based on the WADA code.
The agreement stipulates a suspension period of eight months, beginning on July 5, 2026. However, subject to continued full cooperation with the agency in accordance with the established framework, five months will be deducted from the term, resulting in an actual suspension of three months for each player.
Dr. Daniel Harstein, CEO of the agency, stated:
"We see great importance in sending a clear message to all athletes, coaches, and professional staff members to refrain from taking prohibited substances and to maintain a clean, fair, and healthy sport. The agency will continue to act decisively and impartially for this goal."
