Indictment Pending: Man Violated Protection Order and Attached Tracker to Ex-Partner's Car

Officers from the Shuafat police station in the Jerusalem District have concluded their investigation into a 45-year-old East Jerusalem resident who was arrested on suspicion of stalking his ex-partner, attaching a tracking device to her vehicle, appearing at locations where she was present, and violating a court-issued protection order.

The investigation was launched following a complaint filed by the woman after she caught the suspect removing the tracking device from her car. Police have also charged him with violating her privacy.

Following the conclusion of the investigation and the consolidation of evidence, a prosecutor's statement was filed against the suspect. His detention has been extended until August 3, 2026, at which time the Jerusalem District police prosecution is expected to file a formal indictment.

Chief Sergeant Amir Sawaed, head of the domestic violence unit at the Shuafat station, stated:

"This is a suspect who, based on the evidence, posed a real danger to the victim through his conduct. The Israel Police acts with determination against any manifestation of violence, harassment, and harm to the safety of crime victims, and will continue to work to bring those involved to justice."
