Fatal accident near Tnuvot junction: Motorcyclist killed, two injured

A motorcyclist aged about 20, a resident of Qalansawe, was killed this evening in a traffic accident on Highway 57 near the Tnuvot junction. A man aged about 30 was seriously injured and another person sustained light injuries. Police have opened an investigation, and three lanes in the westbound direction remain closed.

A motorcyclist aged about 20, a resident of Qalansawe, was killed this evening in a traffic accident on Highway 57 near the Tnuvot junction. The accident, which involved a vehicle and two motorcycles, left two other people injured: a man aged about 30 in serious condition and another person in light condition.

MDA medics and paramedics arriving at the scene found the motorcyclist with no signs of life and were forced to pronounce his death. The seriously injured individual, who suffered from multi-system trauma and limb injuries, was evacuated to Laniado Hospital. The lightly injured person was taken to Meir Hospital.

MDA paramedic Aseel Aaridi and emergency medical technicians Uriya Nir and Yonatan Ankilevich stated: "When we arrived, we encountered a very severe accident scene. One of the motorcyclists was lying on the road with critical injuries, and unfortunately, after medical examinations, we were forced to pronounce his death. Additional MDA teams provided treatment and evacuated a man aged about 30 in serious condition, with limb injuries, to Laniado Hospital, and another lightly injured person to Meir Hospital."

Traffic investigators from the Sharon district have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the collision. Following the incident, three lanes on Highway 57 in the westbound direction were closed to traffic.
