Fatal traffic accident near Beit Shemesh: cyclist killed in vehicle collision
A tragic morning near Beit Shemesh: a cyclist in his 30s died after being struck by a vehicle. MADA paramedics were forced to declare his death at the scene.
A severe traffic accident occurred on Highway 3855, near the entrance to Beit Shemesh, resulting in the death of a cyclist in his 30s after being struck by a vehicle.
MADA paramedic Beni Rozens stated:
«We found the victim lying on the side of the road unconscious, with no pulse and not breathing. He had sustained a severe head injury. Despite our medical efforts, the injuries were critical, and we had no choice but to declare his death at the scene.»
The driver involved has been detained for questioning. Traffic accident investigators from the Jerusalem District are currently examining the scene to determine the circumstances of the incident.
This follows another serious accident yesterday involving a minibus and a vehicle on Highway 650 near the Alon junction. An 80-year-old woman was critically injured in the collision. MADA medics performed advanced resuscitation, including chest compressions and ventilation, successfully restoring her pulse. She was evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in serious condition, where she remains sedated and ventilated. Another passenger, a man in his 80s, sustained only minor injuries.
