Fatal accident in Sinai: 16 dead in bus rollover in the Nuweiba area
A bus rollover on the Dahab-Nuweiba road in the southern Sinai Peninsula has left 16 people dead and 28 injured. The Egyptian Ministry of Health has deployed 20 ambulances to the scene to assist victims.
A fatal bus rollover occurred this morning, Wednesday, on the Dahab-Nuweiba road in the southern Sinai Peninsula, resulting in 16 deaths and 28 injuries, the Egyptian Ministry of Health announced.
The ministry stated that Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar is closely monitoring the aftermath of the accident. An official spokesperson clarified: "Immediately upon receiving the report, the central operations room was activated, and 20 ambulances were sent to the scene of the accident to evacuate the wounded and provide first aid."
Last month, a two-year-old Israeli toddler drowned in a hotel pool in Sharm el-Sheikh. She was evacuated to a hospital in Egypt, where her death was pronounced, and the ZAKA organization handled the transfer of her body to Israel.
In May 2024, three Israelis were killed in a car accident in the Nuweiba area. The deceased were a couple and their young daughter, residents of Kafr Qasim in the Sharon region. Several of the victims' relatives were also injured in that severe accident and were evacuated to hospitals in Israel with the assistance of the Air Force and teams from the 669 Search and Rescue Unit.
