Accident in the Jordan Valley: Five injured, four of them seriously

Firefighters from the Samaria regional station rescued a female driver trapped in a vehicle that overturned onto its roof in a traffic accident near Moshav Mechora in the Jordan Valley. Simultaneously, the teams worked to extinguish another vehicle that flew to the side of the road and caught fire. Magen David Adom (MDA) medics and paramedics provided medical treatment at the scene to 5 injured people, including 3 in serious condition.

Shift commander, Reshef Tomer Bachar, reported that three vehicles were involved in the accident. According to him, upon the forces' arrival at the scene, they worked simultaneously to rescue the trapped person, while providing medical response, and to extinguish the burning vehicle.

Two girls aged about 17, who were unconscious and suffered severe head injuries, were evacuated by an MDA-Hatzala Air helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem. Three additional injured people were evacuated by helicopter, in cooperation with an IDF medical force, to Beilinson Hospital: a girl aged about 15 and a man aged about 25 in serious condition, and a man aged about 30 in moderate condition. The three suffered from multi-system injuries.

MDA paramedic Yonatan Meiersdorf and senior medics Mati Carmi and Yonatan Shenbai said:

"When we arrived at the scene, we noticed significant damage to the vehicles and five injured people who suffered severe injuries to their bodies. Two girls aged about 17 were unconscious and suffered a very severe head injury."

According to them, "We provided them with initial medical treatment and evacuated them by MDA-Hatzala Air helicopter to the hospital while they were in serious condition, while performing actions to stabilize their condition. At the same time, additional MDA teams, in cooperation with an IDF medical force, treated the three other injured people and evacuated them by helicopter to the hospital."
