3,000 fans will accompany Beitar Jerusalem to Romania: "It warms the heart"

3,000 Beitar Jerusalem fans will be in the stands in Bucharest for the return leg tomorrow (Thursday, 20:30) against AEK Larnaca in the second qualifying round of the Conference League. At Beitar, they claim that if it were possible to book more flights to Romania, the number of fans would have been double that.

"The madness surrounding the team is not only in the purchase of 20,000 season tickets, but also in accompanying them to Europe - and it warms the heart," the club said.

In Romania, authorities are well aware of the violent incidents from the match between the two teams in Cyprus. Consequently, a large police force will maintain order tomorrow, including strict checks at the entrance to the stadium to prevent the entry of flares, weapons, and drugs. The police have made it clear that they will have zero tolerance towards both Beitar and Larnaca fans; therefore, Beitar has issued a letter asking supporters to refrain from disturbing the peace. To prevent arrests, fan leaders on-site have spoken with the rest of the supporters, asking them to focus solely on cheering for the team.

On the professional side, Yarden Shua, who suffered from dehydration during training at Beit VeGan two weeks ago and has been battling a virus since, has not yet fully recovered. The captain underwent several tests and will not be able to start tomorrow, but will be integrated during the game. Jonbosco Kalu is expected to take his place. Beitar is being cautious with Shua, knowing that rushing his return could worsen his condition and endanger him ahead of the potential match against Austria Vienna in the next stage.

Beitar understands that the advantage from the previous game is fragile (0:1). Therefore, Almog Cohen, together with his assistants Aviram Bruchian and Moshe Ohayon, are making it clear to the players that they are in for a difficult game and that the contest remains completely open.
